Week 1: May 13th to 19th, 2024
Week 1 will focus on the fundamentals of moot court. Asynchronous lessons will teach topics such as "Basic Vocabulary," "Dissecting a Supreme Court Case," and "Strategic Note Taking." At the end of the week, participants will have the chance to attend office hours with current moot competitors who will speak on where and how to start when preparing for a moot competition.
Week 3: May 27th to June 2nd, 2024
Week 3 will focus on how to draft both appellant and respondent submissions. Asynchronous lessons will include instruction in "First speaker submissions," "Policy Considerations," and "How to bring it home as Second Speaker for the Respondent." The goal of the live lecture for this week is to instruct students as to how to parse out what should be included in submissions and how to craft persuasive arguments.
Week 5: June 10th to 16th, 2024
Our final week will focus on public speaking skills like diction, persuasive speaking techniques, body language and much more! Complete with asynchronous lessons and a video assignment, this week will wrap up all the important insights learned throughout the bootcamp in a final live lecture by a practising attorney.
Week 2: May 20th to 26th, 2024
Week 2 will focus on the art of comprehensive researching in preparation for a moot competition, including different research platforms and methods of deciphering case law. This week will involve asynchronous lessons and an assignment in reviewing relevant precedents. Following this there will be a live lecture that will extend on the insights offered in the first week about breaking down a Supreme Court case.
Week 4: June 3rd to June 9th, 2024
Week 4 is on the ever-important ability to answer questions posed by judges in round. Whether you have a hot or cold bench, knowing how to answer questions in stride without letting them throw you off is crucial to presenting winning submissions. This week will teach out about different types of questions, and how to answer them, and will conclude with a live lecture on this topic from a leading moot court expert and attorney.
All Weeks
