Jakob is a 1L at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, after graduating with an HBA in Philosophy from the University of Toronto. Jakob’s mock trial career began in high school as a member of the development team at White Oaks Secondary School. At UofT Jakob competed in both Canadian and American mock trial as a lawyer and witness. In Canada, Jakob has as many top 2 finishes as lost rounds across 5 competitions, including tournament wins at both UofT Cup and McGill Maple Bowl, Canada’s premier competitions. In the United States, Jakob has led UofT’s program in varying capacities as both Director, Captain, and Co-President for the past 4 years. During his time as a competitor Jakob became the first international student to ever win an individual award in American Mock Trial, was the first student to win a perfect rank individual award, and the first to win an attorney award. As the program's leader, Jakob took over the program in its infancy and has led it to the National Championship tournament twice, leaving the program ranked 32nd in the world out of over 750 teams. Jakob is committed to giving back to the mock trial community, volunteering his time to judge high school and university competitions in Canada, the US, and China.

Jakob's advocacy work has continued at the law school level, his team placing 1st overall at Osgoode Hall's Lerner's LLP Cup, where he was also named 2nd overall oralist.

Rory is a 1L at the University of Toronto, after having received her HBA in the humanities from the University of Toronto as well.  She has 7 years of mock trial experience, in both Canadian and American mock trial, and is currently the most awarded (11 individual awards) and highest awarding Canadian student in the American Mock Trial Association, having achieved a triple crown in her senior season (individual attorney awards at all levels of competition).

 

Further, in 2025, Rory was crowned champion of Trial-by-Combat, the One-on-One Collegiate Mock Trial National Championship, selected to compete in Trial-by-Combat, a head-to-head mock trial tournament, earning her the title of best mock trial competitor in North America. In her three years at the helm of UofT's American mock trial team, she led them to back-to-back Nationals appearances, the A team placing 21st out of 750+ teams in the 2024-2025 season.

Anasofia Florez is an incoming 2nd year student at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Gender Studies and Critical Equity Studies with a minor in Sexuality Studies. She has 6 years of mock trial experience, in both Canadian and American mock trial, and 4 years of mooting experience. This past year at U of T, she served both as Captain for the American Mock Trial Team A and as Captain for the Canadian Moot team. Under her guidance, AMT Team A made history by qualifying for Nationals and Canadian Moot had its most successful season ever: 52 students won awards including 16 Top Oralists, 6 Finalists, and 8 Champions.
